Is PEMF therapy new?PEMF is perfectly safe and widely used. It may sound like a new technology but it has been used safely and effectively throughout Europe for more than 50 years. Thousands of studies including those by NASA and King’s College London have found benefits in using PEMF therapy, it is widely used to improve health and enhance performance of people and animals around the world.
-
How do PEMFs work?By introducing a complementary electromagnetic field into the body through a device like Vigo's Energy Pal, you can re-establish healthy electromagnetic exchanges. This is why PEMFs (Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Fields) are valuable, they stimulate all levels of the body. They are applied externally, and then fully penetrate the body, affecting tissues, organs, and complete body systems.
-
Tens Vs PEMF?TENS only temporarily masks the pain whereas PEMF can encourage the body’s natural ability to heal itself. PEMF Varied strength magnetic fields creating a larger and deeper treatment area. Encourages the body to heal at the source of the pain. Therefore fixing the problem rather than masking it temporarily Non-invasive and completely pain free. Not a throw away quick fix but an investment in your health. TEN Electrical impulses Temporary pain relief through body’s natural pain killer (endorphins) Non-invasive but can cause muscles to convulse and cause a tingling sensation

What is PEMF therapy used for?Pain management is one of the most common applications for PEMFs PEMFs work to reduce pain by changing the local tissue environment from which the pain starts. Many people throughout the world are using PEMF therapy to manage pain caused by chronic conditions such as arthritis. Insomnia affects 1 in 3 people in the world and can significantly affect health and mental function. Therapeutic PEMFs have been shown to reduce sleep disturbances and help improve quality of sleep. The wider benefits including reduced stress and improved circulation can also have a knock on effect and help to reduce sleep disturbance. A recent NHS survey of Mental Health found that 1 in 6 adults in England had a common mental disorder. Therapeutic PEMFs have been shown to improve concentration and mental wellbeing. There is some evidence that PEMFs actually change brain wave activity and PEMFs are often used to assist with reducing mild depression and anxiety. A lack of relaxation is a leading cause of stress-related illnesses PEMF therapy is useful for deep relaxation and can be used alongside more traditional techniques such as breathing exercises and meditation. It has been found that low frequency Theta-Waves (4-8 Hz) are particularly useful for deep meditation and inducing sleep.

Do I feel any electric or electrostatic shock when using Vigo Energy Pal?The customer will not feel any electric or electrostatic sensation, but can feel the comforting warmth that is pre-set to provide a thermal condition to facilitate energy treatment. Based on our experience, electric or electrostatic shock will deter the customer from using the device as often as desirable. Most other High Electric Field therapy devices does generate a strong electric feeling by itself or when being in contact with a user. Although advertised as an indication that the device is working, it is really an inconvenience and a technical barrier that can't be overcome by most manufacturers. Standing out from our competition, we are able to offer better experience in this regard. Our product is an innovation from ground up. In essence, the objective is the same: therapy by high electric field. But the design and configuration are entirely different. We deliver a high electric field for therapeutic effectiveness while outputting only a ultra micro electric current that is much smaller than other peer devices, thus leaving no electric sensation. To sum things up: we have achieved the therapeutic efficacy while successfully eliminating the discomfort.
-
Is PEMF safe for everybody?PEMF are regarded as safe. The one absolute exclusion to this is for people who have pace makers or other implanted electronic devices as there is the potential that the PEMF device could interfere with it. Caution is also advised during pregnancy. Whilst there is no evidence of harm caused by using PEMFs during pregnancy, their safety has not yet been established.
-
Are EMFs and PEMFs the same?It is unproven that EMFs (such as from wireless devices) have a negative effect on your health but they are also different from PEMFs. A big difference between PEMFs and EMFs is that PEMF therapy uses frequencies and magnetic fields at therapeutic levels. PEMF devices are considered healing because they replicate the natural magnetic field and low frequencies of the earth and never reach the high frequencies or heating effects of EMFs.
-
Is PEMF therapy FDA approved?PEMF therapy is FDA approved for certain conditions (not all are listed below) and a short timeline of FDA approval is as follows: 1998 - FDA approved PEMF Therapy for urinary incontinence and muscle stimulation. 2004 - FDA approved PEMF Therapy for cervical fusion patients at high-risk of non-fusion. 2006 - FDA approved PEMF Therapy for treatment of depression and anxiety. 2015 - FDA reclassified PEMF devices from their existing Class 3 category to a Class 2 status, and most PEMF devices that are sold today in the United States are FDA registered as wellness devices.
-
Is PEMF therapy called anything else? You may have heard about PEMF therapy under another name. Common examples are Electromagnetism, ElectroMagnetic Pads, Electromagnetic therapy and Pulse Electro Magnetic Field therapy.
-
How can I alleviate adverse reactions? If you do experience adverse reactions, it is important to slow down your use of the therapy without stopping. Continued use will help your body adjust and an ideal way of doing this is reducing the frequency it is used.

Is there any difference between A PEMF and a TENs unit?Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields (PEMF) therapy is a treatment strategy which relies upon electromagnetic fields targeting the body at the cell level. Meanwhile, Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) therapy uses a low-voltage electric current to relieve symptomatic pain by exciting sensory nerves and stimulating the pain gating mechanism. Even though PEMF devices and TENS units are closely related, they differ significantly. As the name implies, PEMF devices use electromagnetic fields created by means of a copper coil. These magnetic fields are applied to the entire body with the purpose of improving the repair and health of cells, tissues and whole body. In contrast, TENS units make use of a low-voltage electric current that stimulates the nerves. PEMF devices and TENS units also vary in their range of clinical applications. Although TENS units are exceptionally effective at handling symptomatic pain, they can't influence the recovery and healing process in any way other than pain relief. Conversely, clinicians are able to use PEMF to enhance the repair of damaged cells, stimulate healing of nerves, decrease inflammation, and also improve the function of our cells. Patient’s suffering from non-union of fractures may also use a PEMF device to alleviate pain and accelerate the recovery process, whereas a TENS unit will only have the ability to lessen the pain. Since a PEMF treatment relies upon electromagnetic fields, they do not require direct contact with skin. PEMF therapy can be applied while wearing light clothes, which makes them a more suitable alternative. PEMF devices can also target a larger area of the body at once in comparison to the coverage capacity of TENS electrodes which need to be removed from one area of the body to another. Although many individuals believe PEMF devices and TENS units to be in similar, they utilize very different mechanisms of action to accomplish their therapeutic outcomes and differ considerably in their application. TENS units are primarily useful in pain management, while PEMF devices can facilitate healing while relieving pain.

What is Qi in the body?According to TCM, qi is life force or vital energy. Everything in the world is made up of qi, including the physical body and the feelings a person has. Followers and practitioners of TCM believe that to be balanced in life and free from physical or mental health issues, a person must have balanced qi.
-
How can I improve my Qi?Improve through acupressure or acupuncture. In TCM, acupressure helps improve the circulation of your Qi, or vital energy source. It does this by applying pressure to certain points along the meridians of your body, which are channels that your Qi flow through. Acupuncture works similarly by activating your meridians with thin needles.

What is Far-Infrared Therapy (FIR) and what does it do?Far-Infrared Rays are waves of energy, totally invisible to the naked eye, which penetrate the surface of the skin where they gently elevate the body’s surface temperature to 107.6F/42C and above, whilst positively activating body systems and functions.
-
What is Far Infrared Ray good for?FIR reduces soreness on nerve endings and muscle spasms, as muscle fibres are heated. As a result, rapid reduction of swelling, inflammation and associated pain occurs. Relaxation of muscles and relief of muscular aches – reduces back, shoulder and neck pains. FIR soothes tension and stress in both body and mind.

What is negative ion?A springtime thunderstorm hits, and as soon as it passes you are eager to go out for a walk. The feeling can be exhilarating. The same thing happens visiting Niagara Falls or by the seaside. If you were to make physical measurements, you would find that oxygen (O2) in the air has taken on a tiny negative electrical charge, becoming O2–. These particles are enveloped by microdroplets of moisture, H20, which help maintain the charge until the O2– is attracted to a neutralizing surface. The arrangement of O2– molecules enveloped by moisture is called “superoxide”, but you might also call it fresh air. By contrast, if you live and work indoors for extended periods, with heating or air conditioning, or are close to computer screens and TV displays, the superoxide is depleted: positive ions compete with negative ions, removing their benefit.
-
Are Negative Ions Good For You?Negative ions are abundant in nature, especially around waterfalls, on the ocean surf, at the beach and widespread in mountains and forests. They can help: neutralize free radicals revitalize cell metabolism enhance immune function purify the blood balance the autonomic nervous system, promoting deep sleep and healthy digestion
